System Requirements
====================
Cindy Clock originally required System 7 and Color QuickDraw. It will now run under
System 6.0.4 or later with or without Multifinder. However, without Multifinder you won't be able to display the clock and work in another application. The program does require color quickdraw. It is available on most Macs with the 68020 and later, but not on the classics --- unless you have a second monitor --- sorry classic owners.
Installation
===========
Since you are reading this, I assume that you have been able to unpack the program with BinHex and Stuffit. That's the hard part. The rest is easy. Drag the application to your hard drive, and then double click on that icon. The first of many wonderful pictures will appear with the clock. Once you have looked at the pictures - send money to the author. He will appreciate it! I guarantee it! What follows is the history of this program. I have started with version 1.0, but the real features and pictures didn't appear until version 1.3 with many improvements in programming for version 1.4. Version 1.4 has a total of 50 super model pictures to choose from!
Cindy Clock V1.0
===============
What is this thing?

This version of Cindy Clock features a picture of the supermodel Cindy Crawford.
On a lighter note, it also displays the date and time.
This is a multi-finder application that was developed under System 7 for the Macintosh. You can place it in your Startup Items folder and have the application run each time the computer is booted. Or, you can just launch it like any other application and then send it to the background.
The program will run on any Mac screen as long as the computer has color quickdraw. However, it is recommended that you have a monitor that can display at least 16 shades of gray. The more the better, but 16 will display just fine. The size of the screen does not matter. This version always place itself in the lower-right hand portion of the desktop.
Cindy Clock V1.1

Well, after the amazing response that I received after the initial posting about Cindy Clock, I decided to make a few slight changes. I think that you will find them amusing.
First, you can now select from more than one picture of Cindy. You can use the quick keys or you can choose from the Select-A-Pict menu. There's a Cindy for every day of the work-week!
I have also added a Boss Key. By pressing command-b or choosing Boss Key from the Select-A-Pict menu you will see a picture of a puppy which shouldn't offend anyone!
Cindy Clock V1.2

Becoming addicted to the thought of multiple Cindy's to brighten up the desktop, I have added four more pictures of the super-model. Now, there's a total of 9!
With this version, I am doing updates with the update-maker program. It will save download time. To update, you must turn off Gatekeeper if you use it. That's a requirement for the update program, not me. To update, run the application that came from the archive. It will ask you to locate your version 1.1. Select it, and viola - new Cindy's for your enjoyment!
If you received version 1.2 as your first version, you were sent a complete version. All additional versions will be sent with the update-maker format.

Clock Version 1.3
================
I don't call it Cindy Clock anymore because there is more than just Cindy. You will be delighted with the sights of Cindy Crawford, Paulina Poriskova, Kathy Ireland, Stephanie Seymour, and more!
This version introduced a new menu - the model menu. Currently there are four choices. You can choose Cindy I (facial shots of Cindy), Cindy II (medium shots of Cindy), Paulina (combination of great shots), and Miscellaneous (Kathy Ireland, Stephanie Seymour, Rachel Hunter and others). The model menu starts with command-C since B was already taken with the boss key. You can select a model with command-c, d, e, and f! All totaled 40 super model pictures! A great deal for just $5.00!
The picture menu is just a renamed version of Select-A-Pict. command 1-0 will display the picture of the model. Press Command E-2 for the second picture of Paulina Poriskova and you will get the hang of this system. Of course you can always select the items from the menu as well.
This version is now ready! You can send this to ftp sites and other online systems. Please send this documentation with the file.
Version 1.4
===========
The pictures in this version have not changed significantly from version 1.3. I added an additional menu of models. Miscellaneous I and II now appear under the model menu. Miscellaneous I has a couple of different pictures which appear cleaner. Miscellaneous II is a complete set of 10 new pictures. This version introduces the smart clock. When you quit the application or do a shutdown, the program will remember its position on the screen, which model you had selected, and which picture was displayed. When you start up the application again, it will remember were you had it. Nice feature for large monitor systems and multiple monitor systems. This version also has a detection scheme built in for Radius monitors. A special thanks to John Thoo for his help in the testing of this feature. When the monitor is rotated from portrait to landscape or from landscape to portrait the window will determine if it was on that screen and needs to adjust itself.
Version 1.4 is the first version that will run under System 6. I have tested the system under System Software Version 6.0.8, but it should run on anything later than 6.0.4. If you are interested in updating your version of the system software, check out the Apple ftp site which is: bric-a-brac.apple.com in the dts directory.
Differences between System 6 and 7
---------------------------------
I have noticed a couple of display differences between System 6 and System 7. For one, I had to use a different window for the System 6 users since the window that I used for System 7 is not available under System 6. Second, I think that the pictures display a little clearer under System 7, but that could just be me. So, if you run the clock under System 6, and then under System 7 you will notice a difference in the window that is used. The determination is automatic, and the window will be selected automatically as well.
